Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The StoneLite short cylinder is a wide, low cylinder cast from glass-reinforced concrete, built for scale rather than height. Five sizes run from 56 x 26cm holding 60 litres to 112 x 53cm holding 510 litres, in 11 finishes. At more than a metre across, the largest gives you the planting area of a garden bed on a surface you cannot dig into.

Why you'll love it

  • Bed sized planting volume. Five hundred and ten litres is enough to plant a group, so a small tree and its underplanting share one container.
  • Wide and low, so it stays put. A broad base and low centre of gravity make this the shape for wind, rooftops and poolside.
  • A third of the weight of solid concrete. The 510 litre cylinder weighs 55kg empty, which makes a container this size possible on a suspended slab. Dulux Weathershield sprays carry a 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking.

Sizes and what fits in them

Five sizes, measured as outside diameter by height.

  • 56 x 26cm, 60 litres, 15kg. A single clipped ball, or grasses and succulents.
  • 75 x 35cm, 150 litres, 25kg. A dwarf citrus or olive with low planting around its base.
  • 90 x 42cm, 260 litres, 35kg. An advanced shrub, or three plants set as a group.
  • 100 x 47cm, 355 litres, 45kg. A small feature tree, or a run of strappy natives.
  • 112 x 53cm, 510 litres, 55kg. An advanced specimen tree with a skirt of planting beneath it.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass-reinforced concrete, cast and hand finished. It shrugs off knocks that crack ordinary pots, and tone varies slightly between pieces.

Outdoors. The sprayed finishes carry the 15 year Weathershield guarantee; raw concrete is uncoated. We do not publish a frost rating, so in hard frosting districts raise the cylinder on feet and keep the mix draining.

Drainage. Cast with drainage holes. Keep them clear, sit the cylinder on feet, and screen the holes with fibreglass flyscreen, not fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix, never garden soil.

Cylinders ship empty and packed to travel, delivered Australia wide. Raw concrete is dispatched in 2 to 5 business days; sprayed colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks. Set the 112 x 53cm cylinder in position before filling it.
