StoneLite Cylinder Cluster 56W

The StoneLite Cylinder Cluster 56W is the larger of the two cluster sets, three cylinders cast in glass-reinforced concrete at a shared 56cm width and heights of 56cm, 78cm and 100cm. Volumes run from 130 to 230 litres, empty weights from 19kg to 29kg, roughly a third of solid concrete. This is the set to use when a courtyard or entry needs scale rather than detail.

Sizes and what fits in them

Three sizes, quoted as outside diameter by height. Choose plants suited to pots, since aggressive root systems will damage any planter.

• 56cm by 56cm, 130 litres. The base of the group, for mounded plantings, clipped balls or a plant that breaks the rim.
• 56cm by 78cm, 190 litres. Shrubs, dwarf citrus and screening plants, with the foliage lifted above a fence line.
• 56cm by 100cm, 230 litres. A metre of pot before the plant even starts, for a narrow feature tree or a clipped standard.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass-reinforced concrete throughout, at 19kg, 28kg and 29kg empty as the heights step up.

Outdoors. Made for outdoor positions. Sprayed colours use Dulux Weathershield with its 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking; raw concrete is supplied unsprayed.

Drainage. Each pot has drainage holes. Keep them clear and raise the pots on feet so water escapes freely. Cover the holes with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors, use saucers.

Pots ship empty, packed to travel. Raw concrete is dispatched in 2 to 5 business days; custom spray colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks.
