StoneLite Classic Urn

The StoneLite Classic Urn is a traditional urn form cast in glass-reinforced concrete, made in a single size at 54cm across and 45cm high. It holds 25 litres and weighs 15kg empty, roughly a third of what the same shape would weigh in solid concrete. It is the piece for a garden that needs one formal anchor rather than another plain pot.

Sizes and what fits in them

This urn is made in one size only. The figures are outside dimensions.

• 54cm across. A broad planting face for clipped buxus, succulents, dwarf agapanthus or a seasonal display.
• 45cm high. Enough lift to read as a feature at the end of a path or either side of a step.
• 25 litre bowl. Shallow for its footprint, so favour shallow rooted plants. Aggressive root systems will damage any planter.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass-reinforced concrete throughout, 15kg empty and considerably more once filled and watered.

Outdoors. The urn is made for outdoor positions, and the Weathershield spray is what protects the colour: 15 years against blistering, peeling and flaking. There is no raw concrete option here, so every urn is a sprayed finish.

Drainage. It has drainage holes. Keep them clear and raise the urn on pot feet so water escapes. Cover each hole with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors, use a saucer.

What to expect when it arrives
