The Natural Timber Crate is a trough shaped planter in solid timber, 700mm long by 400mm wide and 400mm high, finished in natural unstained wood. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use, so it moves from a courtyard to a hallway without looking out of place. Reach for it when a moulded pot would read too new against brick, render or an aged deck.

Material. Timber throughout, in a natural finish with no paint or heavy stain to chip. Brush it clean or wipe it over with a damp cloth when it needs it.

Outdoors. The crate is weather resistant and suited to outdoor positions. Timber is still timber, so stand it on pot feet or a raised surface rather than flat on wet paving. That one habit does more for its life than anything else.

Drainage. Plant into a liner rather than filling the timber directly, or drop a nursery pot straight in and lift it out to drain. A liner protects the timber and holds moisture where the roots want it. Indoors, sit it on a saucer.
