Mushroom Beige Sereh Pot

The Sereh is a softly rounded pot moulded in Holland from recycled plastic, its surface textured with flowing lines that echo swaying grasses. It comes in two sizes, 300mm and 400mm across, in a warm mushroom beige. It is UV stabilised and frost resistant, which is what allows it to stay outside all year in most of the country.

Sizes and what fits in them

• 300mm. 30cm across and 25.3cm tall, holding roughly 18 to 22 litres of mix. Indoor foliage plants, an ornamental grass, or a compact shrub.
• 400mm. 40cm across and 33.3cm tall, holding roughly 35 to 40 litres. Feature foliage, a fuller grass clump, or a shrub you intend to keep for a few years.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Recycled plastic, lightweight and strong, in a textured mushroom beige finish. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth or hose it down.

Outdoors. UV stabilised and frost resistant, so summer heat and winter cold are both accounted for. It is rated for indoor use as well, and shelter outdoors is optional rather than necessary.

Drainage. This one has no drainage holes, and that changes how you plant it. The simplest approach is to leave the plant in its nursery pot and slip that inside, lifting it out to water. If you plant directly, use a free draining mix, water sparingly, and tip the pot after heavy rain if it sits outdoors. No saucer is needed indoors, because nothing drains out of the base.

What to expect when it arrives

The pot ships empty and boxed, without plants, potting mix or a saucer. Both sizes are light enough to carry into position before filling, and the 400mm is still manageable once planted. Pots are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
