The GRC Wok Bowl is a wide, shallow glass reinforced concrete planter, sold in three round sizes from 75cm to 115cm across plus a 45 x 45 x 55cm size. The standard finish is a warm corten style rust that sits well against foliage. A bowl this wide gives surface area rather than depth, which is what shallow rooted planting wants.

  • 95 x 35cm. 120 litres, 18kg empty. Layered planting with a low feature plant ringed by groundcover.
  • 115 x 40cm. 250 litres, 23kg empty. Landscape scale, for entries, courtyards and mass planting in one piece.
  • 45 x 45 x 55cm. The tall size in the range, for a single upright feature plant. Volume and weight are not published.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass reinforced concrete, moulded with a thin reinforced wall. It gives the texture of concrete without the tonnage, which is why a 115cm bowl is practical to handle.

Outdoors. Outdoor planters, tough enough for commercial installs. Almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour can be sprayed to order for an extra $60.

Drainage. Drainage holes are included and must stay clear, which matters in a shallow bowl. Raise it on feet, cover each hole with fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Add a 50mm layer of 10mm gravel, then fill with premium potting mix, never garden soil.
