Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The GRC Divider Trough is a narrow, upright planter in glass reinforced concrete, made to stand as a green partition rather than sit in a corner. Three sizes run from 75 x 20 x 60cm at 90 litres up to 100 x 35 x 80cm at 280 litres, in the warm corten style rust. At 20kg to 50kg empty it holds its ground and still moves without machinery.

Sizes and what fits in them

All measurements are outside dimensions, length by width by height.

  • 75 x 20 x 60cm, 90 litres, 20kg. A slim balcony screen: dwarf lilly pilly, a narrow clumping bamboo, or clipped westringia.
  • 85 x 28 x 70cm, 167 litres, 30kg. Three or four screening shrubs along the length, with room for roots to spread sideways.
  • 100 x 35 x 80cm, 280 litres, 50kg. The one for a genuine hedge in a pot.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass reinforced concrete is a concrete shell reinforced with glass fibre. It carries the texture of cast concrete without the mass, which makes a 280 litre trough a two person lift, not a machine job.

Outdoors. Sold in rust only, and built for permanent outdoor installation. We publish no frost rating for the range, so treat cold inland districts as untested rather than assume the finish will cope.

Drainage. It is drilled to drain. Keep the holes clear and stand the trough on feet, then screen each hole with fibreglass flyscreen, not fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Lay 50mm of 10mm gravel and fill with a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Avoid aggressive rooted species, which damage any planter in time.
