Its highly porous, crystalline structure holds water and nutrients in the root zone and releases them as plants need them. Because it is a mineral, it stays in the soil as a permanent conditioner.

Why you'll love it

It stores nutrients. Zeolite takes up nutrients when they are available and releases them slowly, which boosts cation exchange and cuts the fertiliser lost to leaching and runoff.

It holds water. VolcaMin improves water infiltration and retention, which is most valuable in sandy soils.

It buffers pH. It has a mild liming effect, so it gently buffers acidic soils.

It is permanent. The granules keep working in the soil season after season.

How to use it

VolcaMin is applied once a year and stays in the soil permanently. Blend it into growing mixes at 2.5 to 10% of the mix volume, which is 25 to 100kg per cubic metre. When planting trees, use 5 to 10kg in each planting hole, or dig 3 to 5kg per tree into a circular trench around trees already in the ground. On lawns and garden beds the general rate is 25 to 100g per sqm. It can also be blended with fertiliser or compost, or mixed into the topsoil before turf is laid. It is most useful in sandy or non-wettable soils and wherever nutrients leach easily. Wear a dust mask when handling large amounts.

Sizes

4.5kg. For pots, raised beds and small garden areas.

20kg. The bulk bag for lawns, large beds and new plantings.

Specifications

Sizes: 4.5kg, 20kg

Material: clinoptilolite zeolite, a natural mineral

Grade: horticulture and agriculture, 2 to 4mm

Form: granule

Type: permanent soil conditioner for nutrient and water retention

Frequency: once a year

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0691/2917/5359/files/plant-doctor-volcamin-zeolite-soil-conditioner-2-to-4mm.jpg?v=1790779873
