Sabinaria magnifica is incredibly beautiful, absolutely spectacular, and is undoubtedly one of the world's most amazing ornamental palms. This is a relatively "new" palm genus Sabinaria, and a new species Sabinaria magnifica, which are almost non existent in cultivation in Australia.
This gorgeous palm, only discovered in 2013, is native to the Columbian / Panamanian border where it lives in shady humid rainforests. The Latin name magnifica refers to the strikingly beautiful aspect of the palm. It has a short, straight trunk to 6 m tall that holds an enormous crown of large, stiff, circular, glossy green leaves with a deep central division and pure, bright, silvery white undersides on very long stalks.
This is a truly rare collectors palm, and only a very few will be offered for sale.
